Adelson Educational Campus Incubator
CLIENT: The Dr. Miriam & Sheldon G. Adelson Educational Campus
COMPLETION: 2016
SIZE: 5,200 SQ FT
The Adelson Educational Campus created its Incubator Program to provide students with the technical foundations necessary to conceive of, prototype, and bring to market a product. The incubator program facilitates both digital proficiencies, such as computer programming, 3D-modeling, and video rendering, as well as analog skills, including traditional metal- and woodworking, robotics assembly, and advanced prototyping. As such the space hosts a wide range of requirements and demonstrates a high degree of flexibility to adapt to new creative technologies as they are developed. The new facility replaced the existing library, which was in turn moved to a smaller space more fitting of the school’s collection. Since flexibility was essential, an open plan and movable furniture was favored. The client decided on a color palette of red, green, and blue to bring liveliness and playfulness to the space, also giving a nod to the RGB color gamut standard in the computer industry.
