Located in the heart of UNLV’s campus, the Beverly Rogers Literature and Law Building connects to the William S. Boyd School of Law via a second- and third-floor bridge. Originally constructed in 1981 and previously renovated for the Law School, the building now accommodates the Honors College, English Department, and Black Mountain Institute. Each department’s unique identity and program requirements guided the design, resulting in flexible, technology-forward spaces that reflect their respective cultures while maintaining campus cohesion.
Key design updates included a refreshed main entrance with an updated lobby, central stair, and flexible multipurpose room, along with modifications to the exterior screen wall to establish a distinct identity for the new departments. Throughout the project, the design team balanced structural and mechanical constraints, funding considerations, space limitations, and campus operations, ensuring minimal disruption during construction.
