Josh Stevens Elementary School was designed to celebrate learning while maintaining the flexibility required to evolve with future educational needs. The campus is organized into three primary buildings—an activity center, administration, and classroom wings—linked by landscaped courtyards and covered outdoor circulation. Serving approximately 850 pre-K through 5th grade students, the school supports multiple learning styles through a variety of adaptable spaces.

Daylighting played a central role in shaping the building. Classroom heights and window configurations were determined through detailed daylight studies, ensuring that every learning space receives ample natural light. As the third iteration of Simpson Coulter Studio’s kit-of-parts prototype for the Clark County School District, Josh Stevens ES stays true to its flexible, cost-conscious system while being uniquely configured to fit the specific challenges of its Henderson site.
