UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law
Las Vegas, Nevada
The renovation design for the Boyd Law School introduced a new two-story lobby and various updates to the building. The central stair was refreshed with a soft wood finish as it is readily used by students and faculty and serves all four floors of the building. A large skylight was designed at the building’s central dome volume, which connects to the library, circulation, and reference areas. The Law School building also connects to the neighboring RLL building on the campus via a bridge, which was re-clad in the design. The new double-volume lobby serves tiered classroom and courtrooms as well as a community Law Clinic at its first floor. The double volume opens up this entry portal, creating an expansive and impressive feel upon entering into the space.
