Clark County Development Services commissioned Pugsley. Simpson. Coulter Architects to provide master planning, programming, design, construction documents and extended construction administration services for the expansion and renovation of their existing 47,221s.f. facility to bring it up to a total of 123,877s.f.
The project was comprised of a 6 acre parking lot expansion, an 8,000s.f. addition to the existing fleet maintenance building, a 67,450s.f. 2-story office expansion, a 9330s.f. addition to the existing conference/inspections area and approximately 22,500s.f. of interior renovation to the existing building.
Expanding a facility that was to remain fully operational during construction has its challenges. We met those challenges by working closely with the user groups throughout the design and construction process developing detailed construction phasing plans and interim seating charts for the staff as construction progressed. This careful coordination in the design phase has led to a facility that is experiencing fully operational service for their customers throughout the multiple construction phases.
