Lied Library

Lied Library

Las Vegas, NV

The award-winning Lied Library became the heart of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas upon its completion. Large expanses of window walls on the north and east facades provide a comfortably open atmosphere while providing ample daylighting for reading and studying. The immense scale of the multi-story main atrium captivates the user upon arrival while giving them a visual tool for navigating the many floors of the library. It fundamentally shifted the inner workings of the university library typology not only by its integration of technology but also with the provision of multiple tiers of student space and the way in which these tiers encourage the exchange of ideas and interactions amongst students.
