This project provided the existing City of Henderson Fire Station 98 with a new stand-alone apparatus bay for a hazmat truck. In addition to the apparatus bay, the fire station officials expressed a need for a new work storage area as the existing facility did not provide for their evolving storage needs. The design of the apparatus bay needed to be compatible with the existing fire station architectural language, comprised mostly of CMU and metal finishes. The design team also engaged in site design work necessitating the reconfiguration of the parking lot as well as connecting to the existing building and utility lines. The design team carefully coordinated construction activities to ensure that staff would have consistent accessibility to the station and that the station could remain fully operational throughout construction.
